Pryor Cashman was founded on August 12, 1963, when Gideon Cashman joined Saul (Pete) Pryor and David Braun at the firm of Pryor & Braun. To read more about the firm’s history, please click here.

Gideon Cashman remains active with the firm and took on the role of Chairman on January 1, 2007, the same date that Ronald Shechtman became Pryor Cashman’s Managing Partner.

Pryor Cashman has offices in New York and Los Angeles.

As of January 1, 2008, Pryor Cashman has 124 attorneys, comprised of 63 partners, 15 of counsel and 46 associates. 

Pryor Cashman ranked 72nd in the March 2008 New York Law Journal listing of the 100 Largest Private Law Offices in New York State.

Pryor Cashman has 12 major practice groups which provide services to clients in 89 different practice areas.

The attorneys at Pryor Cashman come from 36 different law schools. New York University leads the pack with 21 graduates, followed closely by Fordham (11), St. John's (9), Harvard (8), Cardozo (7) and Columbia (6). Seventeen different law schools each have one graduate at the firm.
