Pryor Cashman Joins With Legal Aid in Pro Bono Housing Court Program
Pryor Cashman is donating legal services to represent indigent tenants in landlord-tenant proceedings in Civil Court, N.Y. County, as part of a new pro bono housing court program in conjunction with the Legal Aid Society of New York.
Pryor Cashman and Legal Aid will screen candidates to carefully manage the number and types of cases handled. To start the ball rolling, the law firm hosted a lunch meeting February 22, 2007. At the meeting, senior staff members from Legal Aid's housing and civil litigation departments provided guidance on the procedure for handling the cases as well as the typical legal issues presented in housing court cases.
Partner Todd Soloway, who has volunteered services to Legal Aid for many years, is the lead attorney from Pryor Cashman.
