
Donald S. Zakarin, Chairman of Pryor Cashman's Litigation Group, represents clients covering a broad spectrum of complex legal and business activities, including corporate and securities litigation, antitrust litigation, foreign exchange litigation, copyright and trademark litigation and general commercial litigation. He has successfully defended corporate clients and individual executives and directors in federal securities fraud class actions and shareholder derivative suits and has guided both corporate and individual clients through SEC and N.Y. State Attorney General investigations.
Mr. Zakarin has extensive trial experience, having tried and litigated numerous jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts throughout the country during the past 30 years, including a variety of contractual and corporate disputes and intellectual property cases. Mr. Zakarin has represented numerous companies and individuals in copyright, contract and other disputes in the entertainment industry, most specifically in disputes arising in the recording and music publishing industries. Mr. Zakarin has also conducted lengthy arbitration proceedings on behalf of corporate and individual clients.
Mr. Zakarin has been a litigation partner at Pryor Cashman since 1983. He is a 1975 graduate of New York University School of Law where he was a member of the Journal of International Law and Politics. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo in 1972 with a major in Management Science and was a member of the national honor societies, Phi Eta Sigma and Beta Gamma Sigma (the national business school honor society).
