Cole Bankson

Cole practices general corporate and business law, focusing primarily on general corporate matters, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, debt and equity financing transactions, joint ventures, corporate formation and limited liability and partnership counseling. He has represented clients from a wide range of industries, including: 

• A multinational publishing and information services company in various stock and asset purchase transactions
• A provider of hosted trading solutions in the sale of its proprietary software and related assets to a former employee
• A hedge fund in a motion picture slate financing 
• A real estate investment company in issuing tenant-in-common interests for off-campus student and military housing
• A company that designs, manufactures and markets clothing for women and children in connection with its sale to a diversified apparel company

Cole was previously employed in the London office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he represented private equity firms in connection with a number of acquisitions throughout Europe, and investment banks in connection with several high-yield debt offerings. 

Cole graduated in 2001 from University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law. Outside work, Cole writes songs and (very occasionally) actually performs them.
