Job Description
This Position provides administrative support to a group of attorneys as a primary assignment and also provides back-up secretarial assistance to other attorneys as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe legal documents, correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets from drafts or dictation at a minimum of 70 wpm.
- Proof read typed material for grammatical, typographical and spelling errors.
- Organize and prioritize numerous tasks while adhering to time constraints.
- Prepare and calculate monthly bills.
- Maintain an organized filing system including, but not limited to, chronological and client files for each attorney.
- Prepare and process all internal forms, including new matter forms.
- Greet and direct clients.
- Schedule meetings and arrange for conference rooms and meals.
- Maintain timesheets and enter attorney time in Elite Enterprise.
- Prepare calendar, plan ahead, follow-up and meet deadlines.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years experience as a legal secretary
- Possess a high level of computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
- Know how to draft various types of documents.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Experienced in maintaining files is a must.
- College degree required.
Skills
Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel. Working knowledge of legal timekeeping software, Deltaview and document management software, such as Hummingbird DM5, PC Docs, IManage. Experience with Hummingbird DM5 is a plus.
