Pryor Cashman Partners Janowitz, Hoffman, Rodner and Kaufman Selected As New York Super Lawyers

Pryor Cashman LLP is pleased to announce that partners James A. Janowitz, Philip R. Hoffman, Stephen B. Rodner and Bradley A. Kaufman have been selected for inclusion on the New York Super Lawyers list for 2007, which appears in the New York Super Lawyers - Metro Edition magazine and was in a special advertising supplement to The New York Times Magazine on September 23, 2007.

Only five percent of New York Metro attorneys were named to the 2007 New York Super Lawyers list. Janowitz, Hoffman, Rodner and Kaufman, like all of the attorneys on the list, were selected through an extensive process based on peer nominations, blue ribbon panel review and independent research.

Philip R. Hoffman was named among the top New York lawyers in the area of Business Litigation. Hoffman is an experienced trial attorney with two primary practice areas – complex commercial and contract litigation and entertainment and intellectual property litigation. Hoffman has also success­fully handled several other types of litigation, including cases involving employment, publishing, sports, privacy, defamation, real estate, tax, trust and estates, and family law. 

James A. Janowitz and Stephen P. Rodner were named among the top Entertainment lawyers in New York. 

Janowitz is Chair of the firm’s Entertainment Group. His practice focuses primarily on film financing and production. Janowitz has led numerous complex multi-picture financings as well as the financing of individual pictures and other assets. He devotes significant attention to representing senior executives of major studios and major film companies in connection with their employment agreements, the structuring of benefits and disputes which may occur.

Rodner’s practice includes transactional matters in all areas of the entertainment field involving theatre, film, television, home video, Internet and e-commerce. He has an extensive intellectual property practice, including the prosecution of trademark applications in the U.S. and throughout the world and representation of clients in connection with all trademark related matters. He also advises clients on issues of copyrights and copyright related matters.

Bradley A. Kaufman was named among the top Real Estate lawyers in New York. Kaufman focuses on commercial office, retail, and industrial leasing transactions. For more than 20 years, he has been responsible for acquisition, leasing and financing transactions aggregating many millions of square feet, representing owners and tenants in New York City and nationally.
