As noted in the article, Real Estate Forum received close to 200 entries. “In making the final selections, the editors considered not only the individual’s accomplishments relative of their number of years in the business, but also the contributions to their respective firms and the industry overall.”

For its profile of Gendel, Real Estate Forum wrote as follows:

Gendel advises and represents owners, developers and tenants across the country in leases, purchase and sale agreements and construction contracts. She is credited with closing more than one million sf in leases for clients such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Quiksilver, Titan Outdoor, SavillsGranite, Rose Associates, Legal Aid and Thor Equities. She’s also helped the Related Cos. obtain the initial construction financing for New York City’s AOL Time Warner Center and represented the buyer of an $86-million, 2.5-million-sf industrial portfolio.

At Pryor Cashman, Gendel created and organized new corporate policy and review processes for site development and franchise lease review for an international education franchise company, and she has trained more than 1,000 corporate client staff and franchisees on those topics. “After 10 years, I still love what I do,” says Gendel, who aims to become a partner at Pryor Cashman. “I want to be a mentor to my junior colleagues and a role model to other women in the real estate field.”
