Pryor Cashman Acts As Counsel On The Betrayal, A New Film By Pandinlao Films
November 7, 2008Pryor Cashman client Pandinlao Films has released a new film, The Betrayal (also entitled Nerakhoon, the Lao word for “betrayal”). Filmed over the course of 23 years, The Betrayal is the story of a family’s epic journey from war-torn Laos to the mean streets of New York. Thavisouk Phrasavath tells his own story of struggling as a young man to survive both the war in Laos and the hardships of immigrant life in Brooklyn, as well as his mother’s astonishing tale of perseverance.
Renowned cinematographer Ellen Kuras’s directorial debut is a remarkable collaboration with co-director Thavisouk Phrasavath – a poetic, deeply personal film about the hidden, human face of war’s “collateral damage.”
Barry Landsman, Robert Stein and Ralph DePalma of Pryor Cashman served as counsel on this project together with W. Wilder Knight II. Mr. Knight also served as Co-Producer of the film.
