Pryor Cashman Bankruptcy Partner Mark Jacobs appeared on FoxBusiness.com on June 2, 2009 to discuss the General Motors bankruptcy proceedings with hosts Connell McShane and Jenna Lee. Jacobs said that it was unlikely that the American taxpayer would recover its investment in GM. Jacobs spoke about the competitive impact and practical effects of having the Federal government running a commercial enterprise in a highly competitive business environment.

Jacobs was also interviewed by Bloomberg.com and asked about U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Gerber, who will be overseeing the GM bankruptcy. Jacobs, who had been before Judge Gerber in the Adelphia case, said that the Judge “is easily one of the best judges in the Southern District, extremely smart, considerate of counsel and careful. He has a terrific judicial demeanor, and will give the GM case the attention it needs and deserves.” According to Jacobs, Judge Gerber “may have to grapple with some thornier issues than have arisen in the Chrysler case, but he clearly has the intellectual firepower to deal with them. Pretty lucky draw for GM and all of the other players.”
