Partner Jim Janowitz Named To Hollywood Reporter’s List Of Power Lawyers For Third Year In A Row
The Hollywood Reporter, Esq.For the third year in a row, The Hollywood Reporter, Esq. has named Pryor Cashman Senior Partner James Janowitz as one of the “100 Most Influential Attorneys in Entertainment” in its “Power Lawyers” selections. The article was published on July 24, 2009.
Janowitz told The Hollywood Reporter, Esq. that “the market isn't as strong as it once was, but there is activity." The article notes that Janowitz “is currently working on a confidential $250 million structured finance arrangement, including money from hedge funds, for a slate of about 10 films. And, as the rare dealmaker who also litigates, Janowitz has been busy representing investors in Melrose I, an underperforming slate of films, in a securities fraud case against Paramount. He's also working with Rick Sands, a former COO of Miramax, DreamWorks and MGM, to create and finance a new distribution company.”
