On Saturday, November 7, 2009, over 250 people attended a Cancer Summit in Washington, D.C., at which Pryor Cashman client Gilda’s Club Worldwide and its counterpart, The Wellness Community, celebrated combining their cancer support efforts under the new name “Cancer Support Community.”

As counsel to Gilda’s Club, Pryor Cashman (represented by Partner Stephen M. Goodman) was among several individuals and organizations honored for their assistance in helping the two organizations join forces.

The Cancer Support Community will likely be the largest professionally-led network of cancer support worldwide, providing a comprehensive menu of personalized and essential services, including support groups, counseling, education and healthy lifestyle programs.  Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the organization includes a network of nearly 50 local Gilda’s Clubs and Wellness Community centers worldwide, more than 100 satellite locations and online support services that extend around the world.
