- Firm continues to expand depth and breadth of its services with launch of new practice area -
NEW YORK, NY (NOVEMBER 16, 2009)– Pryor Cashman LLP (www.pryorcashman.com) continues to expand the depth and breadth of its services with the formation and launch of an Immigration Law practice headed by new partner Colleen L. Caden, who joined the firm today at its New York City offices.
Caden is experienced in all aspects of immigration and nationality law and ensuring compliance with immigration laws, U.S. Department of Labor regulations and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services programs. She works with a diverse client base including Fortune 100 and 500 companies and represents clients in the professional sports, consumer products, financial services, media, consulting, higher education and health care industries.
At Pryor Cashman, Caden will be advising clients on a variety of immigration matters, including the development and implementation of immigration programs and policies; strategic planning of long-term and short-term immigration needs to meet their unique circumstances and needs; and immigration issues related to changing corporate structure. Caden and her staff of experienced professionals will also work with individual clients in preparing temporary visa petitions and applications for permanent residence.
"The launch of our Immigration Law practice results from two factors," stated Managing Partner Ronald Shechtman. "First, we perceived a need among our corporate and entertainment clients for immigration services and support. Second, we believe that our platform as a mid-sized firm will serve as cost-effective means to attract corporate immigration work and to cross-market our services. Colleen’s experience and competence as a corporate immigration attorney make her an ideal starting point for our Immigration Law practice."
Caden comes to Pryor Cashman after spending the past decade at Immigration law firm Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP. She is a member of both the New York and New Jersey bars and is a 1999 graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where she served as Articles Editor of The Journal of Law and Policy. Caden earned both her B.A. and M.A. from New York University.
Under Caden’s leadership, Pryor Cashman’s Immigration Law practice group will provide a full range of immigration solutions and services to corporate and individual clients in a broad spectrum of industries.
"Pryor Cashman prides itself on providing clients with high quality legal services with a personal touch," commented Caden. "This philosophy is perfectly suited to a premier immigration practice that understands how profoundly immigration law impacts an individual and his/her family – from one’s ability to work in the United States, to travel internationally, and to acclimate one’s dependents in the U.S. I am excited to join such a talented group of attorneys and look forward to providing my clients with the level of excellence and service that they expect from Pryor Cashman as a whole."
On the corporate side, Caden and her staff will strategize and prepare temporary work and visitor visas, U.S. permanent residence applications and naturalization applications for corporate employees and dependent family members. They will also provide: (a) strategic advice on short and long term assignments in the U.S.; (b) legal guidance on dependent family members’ visa status including work authorization, student status and maintenance of status; (c) advisory services to develop corporate immigration policies and programs; and (d) training services to corporate in-house human resources professionals and legal staff. In addition, corporate clients will be advised on the impact of corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.
On behalf of individuals, Caden and her staff will be preparing all types of Visa Petitions, including for Nonimmigrant Visas, Immigrant Visas and Waivers.
