PRYOR CASHMAN LLP CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN ITS FAMILY LAW PRACTICE WITH ADDITION OF NEW PARTNER DONALD LOCKHART SCHUCK

 NEW YORK, NY (DECEMBER 01, 2009) – Pryor Cashman LLP (www.pryorcashman.com) is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its Family Law Group with the addition of new partner Donald Lockhart Schuck, who joined the firm today in its New York City office.

For more than 20 years, Schuck has focused his practice on resolving high net worth family law matters, with considerable experience in litigating complex financial issues and high conflict custody disputes through trial and appeal.  He is also trained as a mediator and uses that expertise to resolve family law disputes through negotiation  and mediation.   

At Pryor Cashman, Schuck will continue to  provide counsel to high net worth individuals on  matters involving divorce, child custody, asset valuation and distribution, support and paternity, as well as domestic partnership, prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements.  Based in the firm’s New York City office, he will be joining the seven member Family Law Group, which includes partners Steven M. Rabinowitz and Judith L. Poller (who joined the firm earlier this year).

Before  joining Pryor Cashman, Schuck was a partner at the matrimonial firm, Bronstein, Van Veen & Schuck, LLC.  He previously worked at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle, where he represented clients in securities, employment and white collar criminal litigations.  Schuck is a fellow in both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America (each year from 2005 through 2009) and as a New York Super Lawyer (each year from 2006 through 2009) for his work in matrimonial and family law matters.

Schuck is a member the New York bar and  a graduate of Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review. He is a founder and past president of the Downtown Soccer League and continues to be involved in youth sports and community activities in Lower Manhattan. 

Coming to Pryor Cashman with Schuck will be associate Lauren Bathgate, a 1998 graduate of Fordham University Law School who has a broad range of experience in matrimonial and family law matters involving divorce, child custody and visitation issues, spousal and child support, paternity and separation agreements.
