The Department of State continues to implement fee increases for visa applications made at U.S.consular posts around the world. Beginning in June, the Department raised the fees of nonimmigrant visas and this month will raise the fees for immigrant visas, or green card applications, as well as U.S. passports. The Department attributes the new, tiered fee structure to the higher costs associated with processing certain categories of visas that are more complicated and require more in-depth consideration than other categories of visas.
