Partner Jeffrey Johnson, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Corporate and Intellectual Property Groups, was quoted by The Star-Ledger in its November 9, 2010 article “Success lands Diapers.com in the Amazon fold.”
On November 8, 2010, Amazon acquired Quidsi, the company behind Diapers.com. The acquisition, along with Amazon’s earlier acquisition of online shoe store Zappos last November, signals a shift that it wants to compete more directly with big box retailers like Walmart and Target. As Johnson told The Star-Ledger, “it’s the first piece of a foundation for products that are traditional necessities for consumers.”
