

Pryor Cashman Announces New Partner and Elevates Four to Of Counsel
December 19, 2011Pryor Cashman is pleased to announce that Joshua D. Bernstein has become a Partner and Louis M. Ciccone, Jacob B. Radcliff, Danielle L. Schechner and Benjamin Semel have become Of Counsel to the firm, effective January 1, 2012.
Joshua D. Bernstein joined the firm in 2006. As a member of the Real Estate Litigation Group, Bernstein specializes in complex commercial and residential lease disputes, construction litigation, landlord/tenant disputes and other real estate litigation matters. He also has extensive experience in insurance coverage litigation, alternative dispute resolution and consumer product litigation. Most recently, he was a critical member of a team of Pryor Cashman attorneys who secured a $44 million victory on behalf of its client Castillo Grand in a breach of contract dispute with Sheraton Operating Corp. Bernstein earned his law degree, cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was in the top 7 percent of his class and also served as editor of the Journal of International Law. He also has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Hofstra University.
Louis M. Ciccone has been with Pryor Cashman since 2003 as a member of the Banking and Finance Group. He advises banks and other financial institutions on a broad array of transactions, including secured and unsecured lending. Ciccone also has experience with structured and lease financing and has assisted clients in the structuring and formation of a variety of offshore private investment vehicles. Ciccone earned his J.D. from New York University Law School and his B.A. from Harvard University, where he graduated cum laude.
Jacob B. Radcliff joined the firm in 2004 as a member of the Litigation Group. He has experience in appeals, arbitration, mediation and non-binding dispute resolution. Radcliff also counsels corporations and individuals on diverse issues that include intellectual property, interested transactions by corporate officers, executive compensation, real property and contract. He earned his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and his bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan.
Danielle L. Schechner joined the firm in 2006. As a member of the Corporate Group, she focuses in the areas of general corporate, business, commercial and securities law. Prior to joining the firm, Schechner was associate general counsel for Lyondell Chemicals Company (Millennium Chemicals Operations), managing the large chemical company’s securities, general corporate and global commercial work. She earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law, where she was a member of the International Law Journal, and her B.A. from Emory University.
Benjamin Semel was with Pryor Cashman from 1998 to 2005 and rejoined the firm in 2010 as a member of the Litigation Group. Semel has handled cases at the state and federal level in jury trials and appeals as well as arbitrations and mediations. His experience in intellectual property cases covers trademark infringement, copyrights, rights of publicity and privacy, as well as emerging issues in internet, technology and information law. He also has litigated complex commercial cases involving areas such as contracts, fraud, real estate, securities, corporate governance and shareholder claims. Semel earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Kent Scholar, the highest academic honor awarded, and received the Class of 1912 Prize, which is given to the top student in the area of contracts. Semel earned his B.A. from Brown University.
