Managing Partner Ron Shechtman appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell on March 20, 2007, and was interviewed by Maria Bartiromo. The topic was the Wal-Mart case in which former Senior VP Julie Roehm has sued the company for wrongful termination. Wal-Mart, upon being sued, turned around and countersued Roehm on the grounds that, in violation of company policy, she received gifts and meals from advertising agencies who were bidding for the company's work; spoke to the advertising agency that was retained about working at that firm; and was allegedly having an affair with a subordinate vice president in her department.

In addition to addressing some of the legal issues involved, Shechtman noted that when an individual sues a company over an employment dispute expecting a settlement because the company will not want to litigate, an employee must be mindful if his or her conduct as an employee created any liability to the company. In this case, the employee may have kicked the “800 pound gorilla” before she sued and then again by publicizing her accusations.
