Partner Judith Poller Speaks About the Connection Between Matrimonial Law and Trusts & Estates Law
October 3, 2011Judith Poller, partner and Co-Chair of the Family Law Group at Pryor Cashman, Chaired the City Bar Center for CLE’s seminar on The Connection Between Matrimonial Law & Trusts & Estates Law: The Essentials For Practitioners In These Practice Areas. The seminar was held Monday, October 2, 2011 at the New York City Bar.
In addition to her Chair duties, Poller co-presented on the topic of “Special Needs Children in a Divorce and Protecting Them Through the Use of Trusts and Insuring the Protection of Governmental Benefits.” The topics discussed included:
- Preserving Eligibility for Governmental benefits
- The Years between 18 and 21 – The end of "custody" through the end of the required support period
- Guardianship provisions
- Post-Emancipation
