Pryor Cashman’s Labor and Employment Group has extensive experience representing both sides in labor-management relations. We represent public and private sector clients in all aspects of collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, and litigation before administrative bodies and in the state and federal courts.

The Labor and Employment Group has extensive litigation experience before the National Labor Relations Board, the New York City Office of Collective Bargaining and the Public Employment Relations Board. Our group has arbitrated hundreds of employment cases, including disciplinary actions and contract interpretation disputes, and litigated actions to enforce and vacate arbitration awards in both state and federal courts.

In addition to representing clients in traditional industries, our experience extends to collective bargaining in such diverse contexts as the theater and ballet, academia, health care, cemeteries and the fire and police services of the City of New York.

We bring a balanced and practical approach to the labor-management issues our clients face and help them avoid costly disputes whenever possible. We engage in counseling clients in how to avoid disputes and litigation growing out of the ever more regulated workplace. Where appropriate, we advance the process of mediation as an alternative to litigation for the resolution of many disputes .
