The increasingly complex matters affecting the 21st century’s workplace demand that the attorneys in our Employee Benefits, Executive Compensation and ERISA Group have comprehensive knowledge, good judgment and expert follow-through.

We regularly counsel and advise on a broad range of issues pertaining to employee benefits and executive compensation. Our attorneys also have substantial experience and expertise in matters affected by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), counseling investment advisory and hedge fund clients on the full range of ERISA issues associated with plan investments (including what constitutes plan assets), and furnishing financial services to benefit plans.

Since these legal issues often cross boundaries with other practice groups, particularly in the areas of corporate law, bankruptcy, tax, securities, labor and litigation, our clients benefit from our ability to quickly gather information and strategize, when necessary, with an entire team of Pryor Cashman experts – resources that enable our clients to avoid, as well as to solve, problems.

For instance, the Employee Benefits, Executive Compensation and ERISA Group works with the Corporate Group by:

  • Advising on how benefit and executive compensation issues should be addressed, including golden parachute rules
  • Dealing with post-transaction implementation
  • Negotiating representations and warranties in purchase agreements
