Partner Robert J. deBrauwere, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Digital Media and Intellectual Property Groups, was a speaker at the Pryor Cashman co-sponsored event, Financial Services & Social Media – Strategies and Tools for Managing Compliance Risk, which took place Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the firm’s 7 Times Square office.

Monitoring employees and advisors, making required disclosures, controlling official corporate messaging, and maintaining corporate compliance records for social media initiatives are complex, time-consuming and rigorous tasks. Yet, in today’s developing social business climate, financial service companies are compelled to engage their clients and the public through social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Mr. deBrauwere, who is experienced in digital and social media compliance, presented an overview of the rules and regulations that govern corporate communications in the social media space, specifically for companies in the financial services sector.
