Counsel F. Robert Stein Quoted in IP Law & Business Article Relating to Fair Use and Insurance
Pryor Cashman Counsel Robert Stein has been quoted in the May 2007 issue of American Lawyer Media’s IP Law & Business in an article about recent improvements in the availability of errors and omissions insurance coverage for documentary film producers who include third-party copyrighted material in their productions as “fair use.”
Stein, who represents film producers in the evaluation and avoidance of risk in the production of motion pictures, stated that “[t]he importance of these changes to documentary filmmakers cannot be overstated. Filmmakers can now include important content in their films, without fear that lack of insurance coverage will discourage exhibitors, broadcasters, and distributors, or result in bankruptcy in the event of litigation.”
