Pryor Cashman Represents Ed Pressman In Negotiations With Henry Joost And Ariel Schulman For Film Adaptation of Edward Abbey’s The Monkey Wrench Gang

Ed Pressman has brought on Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman to write and direct the adaptation of Edward Abbey's 1975 novel "The Monkey Wrench Gang."

As reported by Screen International on May 8, 2012, Pressman and partner Gary Burden will produce the comedic adventure about four activists who fight developers in the American West in the 1970s. Alessandro Camon and Pressman Film COO Jon Katz will serve as executive producers.

Pryor Cashman Partner James Janowitz, chair of the firm’s Entertainment, Media and Communications Group, and Katz negotiated the deal with CAA, which represented Joost and Schulman.

Long-time Pryor Cashman client Pressman is also in development on his reimagining of The Crow which Javier Gutiérrez will direct and action film "Bloodsport" to be directed by Phillip Noyce.
