Pryor Cashman’s award-winning Media + Entertainment Group will represent production and distribution company CJ Entertainment in connection with the forthcoming film Aurora. CJ Entertainment will develop, produce and finance the romantic-drama, which is being directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy).

The film follows a widower who, 25 years after his wife’s death, continues to live alone in Iceland. When a young man comes into his life with a mysterious connection to his past, the two develop an uneasy relationship, causing them to question their identities and their past lives.

Pryor Cashman Partner Adam Mehr negotiated the Aurora deal on behalf of CJ Entertainment. News of the project was recently reported in Deadline.

Korea-based CJ Entertainment has been accelerating its English-language production activities over the past two years. In recent months, the company has optioned film rights for the novel The Vanished; closed a deal to adapt the screenplay for an English-language remake of popular horror film The Housemaid – which it is also developing, financing and producing; and plans to remake the 2013 Korean horror hit Hide And Seek.
