Partner Judith Poller, co-chair of Pryor Cashman’s Family Law Group, was quoted in the Forbes article entitled “When Divorcing, Why is War Often the Preferred Option?”

With family fortunes at stake, it’s not surprising that most experts estimate that more than 90 percent of cases settle before trial. According to Poller, ultra-wealthy clients are not always adequately prepared for the rigors and stresses of an actual trial.

“In New York, there are 13 factors a court considers in dividing marital assets and 20 factors that must be considered in determining spousal support. The intricacies and nuances can trip up even the most experienced litigators,” said Poller.”
