Vidal Discusses “Lawyering Beyond the Desk” in New Podcast Series
“The only way to expand your firm, to grow and increase business, is to make sure that attorneys, especially those with an interest and aptitude for it, are out meeting with clients. That’s how you multiply the work,” Thomas Vidal explained in a recent interview with the Legal Executive Institute’s new podcast series. Vidal went on to share his tried and true strategies for better client engagement.
“’Trusted advisor status’ is absolutely critical to achieve,” he said. “Having a strong relationship with your client is probably the best way to generate work and ensure it continues. You are a vital component of the client’s business.”
“One of the challenges for us as lawyers is that we typically deal with clients on a one-client, one-matter basis.” Being able to speak to a client’s needs at a deeper, more holistic level helps resolve a wider swath of problems and address things like strategy and execution, Vidal said.
