On November 21, 2016, David Spacht will moderate a panel entitled “Estate Planning for Snowbirds” at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s "Fall CLE Fest."
This CLE-eligible seminar will address the various estate issues which can arise when clients establish dual residency in New Jersey and Florida. Specifically, Spacht and his co-panelist will discuss:
- How to advise clients anticipating a move;
- The keys to establishing domicile and residency requirements for tax purposes;
- Estate Planning with multijurisdictional real estate;
- Navigating Florida’s complex homestead rules;
- The laws affecting spousal rights;
- Long-term care considerations;
- How to ensure that crucial documents such as Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy and Advance Directives are compliant with state law; and
- Creditor rights and remedies.
