FinTech Monitor Editor to Speak At Bitcoin Conference
Bert Fry, co-Editor of Pryor Cashman’s FinTech Monitor blog, will speak at the “Bitcoin Conference – The Developing Legal and Regulatory Challenges of Bitcoin and Other Virtual Currencies” to be held on March 3, 2016 at Hofstra Law School.
The conference will discuss recent developments in the law regarding Bitcoin and other virtual currencies, with a focus on securities, commodities and banking law. Bert will participate in a Securities Law Panel with faculty from Hofstra Law School.
Bert and co-Editor Jeffrey Alberts recently published an article in the Boston University School of Law Journal of Science & Technology Law entitled, “Is Bitcoin a Security?” discussing the factors to be considered in evaluating whether Bitcoin is a security and the implications of that categorization.
