Pryor Cashman Partner Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme, a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, has been named to the 2013 edition of the World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR 1000), which lists the leading law firms, attorney firms and individual practitioners offering high-level advice on issues relating to trademarks.

Lawyers and trademark attorneys in private practice play a significant role in developing and implementing brand strategies for clients in both global and local markets, as well as acting to protect their clients’ trademark rights in the event of infringement. The second edition of the WTR 1000 shines a spotlight on the firms and individuals that are deemed outstanding in this critical area of practice. The WTR 1000 remains the only standalone publication to recommend individual practitioners and their firms exclusively in the area of trademarks. The publication identifies the leading players in over 50 key jurisdictions globally, highlighting leaders in the respective areas of prosecution and strategy, enforcement and litigation and anti-counterfeiting.

Finguerra-DuCharme, who prosecutes trademarks globally and provides opinions regarding the availability of trademarks in the U.S., is listed in the areas of enforcement and litigation and prosecution and strategy. According to the WTR 1000, “A new arrival at Pryor Cashman, Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme is ‘really making her mark.’ She recently obtained a favourable judgment on behalf of Honda in Dalton v Honda, in which the federal court upheld a previous TTAB ruling. In addition to administrative and civil litigation, Finguerra-DuCharme provides trademark prosecution and clearance expertise to her clients and advises on brand protection strategy.”
