Annual CLE Weekend of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys
Richard Levy, Jr., Partner in Pryor Cashman's Bankruptcy, Reorganization + Creditors' Rights Group, will again be the moderator and a panelist at the Annual CLE Weekend of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys, to be held at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 3-5, 2022. This is ACFA’s first live CLE since 2019, although it offered an online edition of the event in 2021 during the COVID pandemic.
The panel on which Levy will participate, “The Annual Bankruptcy Update,” reports on hot topics in bankruptcy that are of particular interest to secured creditors. Joining Levy on the panel are U.S. Bankruptcy Judges Robert D. Drain (Southern District of New York) and Mindy A. Mora (Southern District of Florida), and Kevin Neiman, a bankruptcy law practitioner in Denver, Colorado.
In addition to joining in the panel's discussion of bankruptcy developments during the past year – including, as a particular highlight of the program, a discussion of the status of nonconsensual releases under Chapter 11 plans - Levy's presentations will include: developments under several recent U.S. Supreme Court bankruptcy cases including the treatment of trademark licenses; developments in the assessment of corporate bankruptcy filings as good-faith or bad-faith filings; and the potential plight of leasehold mortgagees in bankruptcy sales; and
AFCA members are primarily private-practice attorneys and in-house counsel whose work involves asset-based lending, factoring, bankruptcy, and creditors' rights.
