Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys' 2013 Annual CLE Weekend
Richard Levy, Jr. co-chair of Pryor Cashman's Bankruptcy, Reorganization & Creditors' Rights group, was a panelist at the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys’ 2013 Annual CLE Weekend.
Levy’s panel, "The Annual Bankruptcy Update," included U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Gerber of New York, retired U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Joel Rosenthal of Massachusetts, and Florida bankruptcy practitioner Mindy Mora of Bilzin, Sumberg, Baena, Price & Axelrod LLP. The panel reported on hot topics in bankruptcy of particular interest to secured creditors.
In addition to the panel’s discussion of recent bankruptcy developments, Levy's presentation included:
- The treatment of trademark and intellectual licenses in bankruptcy
- Intercreditor and subordination agreements in bankruptcy
- Surcharging secured creditors under Section 506(c) of the Bankruptcy Code
The membership of ACFA consists primarily of private practice attorneys and in-house counsel whose work involves matters of factoring, asset-based lending, bankruptcy and creditors’ right issues.
