Pryor Cashman Represents Lenny's Group in Lease Negotiations for its 19th Deli Location
Partner Ronald B. Kremnitzer, co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group, along with Counsel Benjamin J. Teig, represented longtime client Lenny’s Group LLC in lease negotiations for yet another deli location, which will occupy more than 2,100 square feet at street level with approximately 4,000 more square feet in the basement. The store, “Lenwich by Lenny’s,” located at 2565 Broadway is scheduled to open this summer.
Kremnitzer told the Commercial Observer for its March 9, 2016 article, "Lenny's Bringing Its Sammies to UWS for 19th Eatery," "The location was selected because it's a heavy residential area and it's conveniently located near a subway stop. Further, there were many requests for the store from within this particular neighborhood."
A New York institution celebrating over 27 years, Lenny’s was founded by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sei Hoon "Lenny" Chu, a Korean immigrant and former deli counterman. With locations throughout Manhattan, it has since become a thriving enterprise selling more than 3.5 million sandwiches and serving more than 5 million customers each year.
Kremnitzer has a long-standing relationship with Lenny’s and has represented the company since 1993, when he negotiated the lease on the second deli location on the Upper West Side. He has since represented Lenny’s in each of its store leases as it expanded throughout the city.
