Bryan Mohler is a member of Pryor Cashman’s Real Estate, Hotel + Hospitality and Litigation Groups, where he represents a diverse range of clients on complex commercial matters in trial and appellate courts.

A competitive and determined litigator, Bryan helped secure a pleadings-based dismissal, affirmed on appeal to New York’s highest court, of a lawsuit against a major publishing company involving the alleged breach of a royalties agreement and fraudulent concealment claims. Additionally, he defended a New York real estate investment and development company in a high-profile case concerning the ability of a tenant to waive the protections of New York City’s rent regulations.

Bryan was a member of the litigation team that won a post-trial award of over $44 million on behalf of the owner of the former St. Regis Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in an action against Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide concerning extensive delays caused by Starwood in the construction of the hotel, and Starwood’s wrongful termination of the management contract. He also played an instrumental role in a landmark case wherein the owner of a historic Miami Beach hotel obtained an order authorizing it to remove the hotel manager prior to the stated expiration of hotel management agreement.

Bryan currently represents the former directors of a closed bank in an action against the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

On Top of Financial Services and Securities Issues

Before attending law school, Bryan held several positions in the financial services industry, including as a licensed securities representative providing wealth management services to individual and institutional investors. His knowledge of industry procedures and regulations is valuable when crafting creative, goal-oriented litigation strategies for clients. Bryan drew on his financial experience assisting in the defense of a collateralized debt obligation manager in numerous cases stemming from the 2008 financial crisis.

A 2007 graduate of George Washington University Law School, Bryan was Symposium Editor of The George Washington International Law Review and in his third-year, served as a Dean’s Fellow instructor for the first-year legal research and writing course. During law school, Bryan also was a judicial extern for The Honorable James G. Carr, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and clerked at the Washington, D.C. offices of both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers.
