Pryor Cashman LLP is pleased to announce that Karin J. Lundell has joined the firm as a partner in the Private Client practice. Based in the firm’s New York office, Lundell joins Pryor Cashman from Morrison Cohen LLP.

A former U.N. translator, Lundell is fluent in French and Russian and puts those interpretation skills to use advising both U.S. and international high net worth individuals in all aspects of estate and individual tax planning. A large part of her practice is focused on estate planning, the preparation of complex wills and trusts, and the formation of family partnerships and closely-held corporations. She also represents fiduciaries in the administration of estates and probate court, and advises U.S. and foreign clients in the negotiation and preparation of prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation agreements.

"Karin adds further depth to our Private Client practice including her experience counseling charitable and nonprofit organizations on a full-range of compliance, planning, governance and tax issues," said Ronald H. Shechtman, Pryor Cashman’s managing partner. "We are committed to being a full-service firm to our client base, and Karin is a fine complement to our resources in the Private Client practice."

Specifically, Lundell applies her tax background to advise private foundations and other charitable organizations on corporate governance and compensation issues, state and federal rules governing tax-exempt entities, and compliance with the Internal Revenue Code.

"This is an exciting opportunity for me to expand my service to clients by leveraging the firm’s diverse practice areas," said Lundell. "In addition to a bright group of attorneys and collegial atmosphere, Pryor Cashman has the solid, comprehensive platform I need to bring my practice to the next level. It’s the right place for me and my clients."

Lundell earned her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations of the University of Paris III, New Sorbonne.
