Partner Jeffrey Alberts, chair of Pryor Cashman’s White Collar Defense & Investigations practice and a member of the Litigation and Banking & Finance Groups, co-authored the article “Another Sweeping State Virtual Currency Law.” The piece most recently appeared in Law360 on July 9, 2015.

In the article, Alberts discusses how Connecticut is joining a growing number of other states in the movement toward regulating virtual currency businesses. On June 19, 2015, Governor Dannel Malloy signed Substitute House Bill Number 6800 into law. HB-6800 gives the Connecticut Banking Department oversight powers with regard to virtual currency money transmitters.

Alberts' article first appeared in the FinTech Monitor, Pryor Cashman's blog which supplies the latest news on this rapidly-developing industry.
