‘Uptown Funk’ Infringement Suit Against Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson Dismissed
On April 12, 2018, the lawsuit brought against pop superstar Bruno Mars and producer Mark Ronson and others by the band Collage, which claimed the duo’s Grammy-winning hit “Uptown Funk” infringed its 1983 track “Young Girls” was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiffs.
Speaking to Law360, Partner Ilene Farkas, who represented Mars and Ronson, explained there was no financial component to the stipulated dismissal. Under the agreement, all parties will bear their own costs, attorneys’ fees and expenses.
