Goodman Quoted on Historic Tie at MABA’s 1st Pitch Life Science Competition
Stephen M. Goodman, a partner in Pryor Cashman’s Corporate and Intellectual Property Groups, and co-founder of Mid Atlantic Bio Angels (MABA), was recently quoted in GlobeNewswire regarding the unprecedented tie at the 2016 MABA 1st Pitch Life Science competition.
This year’s joint winners were RiverTown Therapeutics, a clinical stage company developing a topical treatment for androgenic alopecia (a common form of hair loss in men and women) and 6Degrees, developers of a device which enables amputees and others with limited hand mobility to operate computers and mobile devices via Bluetooth technology.
Recognizing the necessity and viability of both products, Goodman said, “After the two companies presented, I thought that it would be a close vote. Each of them described a compelling need and a unique solution. With a carefully thought out development and commercialization plan, each has the potential to generate significant returns for investors.”
Each year, MABA invites early stage life sciences and healthcare companies to present before a panel of experienced life science investors and consultants, followed by a short audience Q&A. Presenters at 1st Pitch then have the unique benefit of hearing first-hand from the panel as they offer a constructive critique of their business model and perceived viability in the market.
