Pryor Cashman represented a joint venture of Vornado Realty Trust and Aurora Capital in their lease to Starbucks of 20,000 square feet located at 61 Ninth Ave in the Meatpacking District of New York City.

The new Starbucks Roastery, which will be the largest Starbucks in the world,  is scheduled to open in 2018 and will modeled after the first — and still only one to date — Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room which debuted in 2014.

The Vornado/Aurora joint venture acquired the site, which was formerly Prince Lumber, in 2015 and will work closely with Starbucks in developing the space.  The new building, designed by Rafael Viñoly, will be located one block south of Chelsea Market. Upon completion, it will be approximately 170,000 sq. ft.

Partner Andrea R. Gendel and Associate Brian L. Helweil, members of Pryor Cashman’s Real Estate Group, represented Vornado Realty Trust and Aurora Capital in the transaction.

The transaction has been widely reported in the press. To read some of the articles, please click here.
