Pryor Cashman Represents Muss Development in Lease of Space to Target for New Store in Forest Hills
Pryor Cashman client Muss Development has entered into a 15-year lease with Target for the 20,795 square foot space at 7000 Austin St. in Forest Hills, New York. A new Target store will open in that space in mid-2016, replacing the Barnes & Noble which has been located there since 1995.
The Target store will be the first small-scale store in Queens for Target, which has recently been offering more small format locations for city-dwellers across the country. “We are excited that Target chose Forest Hills for its first New York City location as part of its national flexible format store roll-out,” said Muss Development Principal Jason Muss, the landlord for the property. “Austin Street is a natural fit for this new retail concept. It is in the center of a high-traffic, residential area and Forest Hills is the quintessential Queens neighborhood.”
Partner Dennis Sughrue, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Real Estate and Banking & Finance Groups, represented Muss Development in the transaction, which was reported in the August 26, 2015 edition of the New York Daily News.
