Ronald H. Shechtman, Pryor Cashman’s Managing Partner and Chair of its Labor and Employment Group, has authored a chapter in Aspatore Books’ special report on Building and Maintaining Client Relationships – Leading Lawyers on Attracting New Clients, Developing Effective Marketing Techniques, and Establishing a Strong Reputation. The report was published in September 2010.

Shechtman’s chapter is entitled Providing Value and Superior Client Service in an Era of Cost Pressure. In it, he focuses on the client service programs and initiatives that have helped Pryor Cashman remain on in-house counsel short lists.

Shechtman notes that the game has changed for law firms of all sizes. Since the recession, clients are demanding that counsel do more with less, and are keeping a close eye on costs. Now, more than ever, law firms must ensure clients clearly understand the value of the legal work they provide. For firms to survive, the mantra “know your client” must be ingrained in every member – partners, associates and staff.
