Pryor Cashman corporate partner Stephen M. Goodman was quoted in the October 2007 issue of Mergers & Acquisitions regarding factors which contribute to spin-offs of corporate divisions or lines of business.

The article by Joan Harrison, entitled “Spinoffs: The Next Best Alternative,” states that as the credit squeeze has put some deals into question, some companies are seeking another option. Goodman noted that waning acquisition activity resulting from uncertainties in the credit markets could also propel spinoffs over the next year.
