Michael Goldberg is a member of Pryor Cashman’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Groups and co-chairs the firm’s Fashion Group.

An accomplished litigator, he concentrates on complex commercial disputes, primarily for clients in the fashion, luxury goods, retail, and entertainment industries. 

Commercial Litigation Expertise 

Michael maintains a diverse practice representing global fashion and luxury goods companies and designers involved in the design, manufacture, and sale of apparel, watches, jewelry, and accessories. He also regularly litigates cases on behalf of individuals and businesses involving intellectual property rights, shareholder and investor disputes, contractual claims, and construction and leasing matters. 

A litigator at his core, Michael routinely appears before state and federal courts across the United States to protect his clients’ critical business interests. His extensive trial experience includes successfully: 

  • Commencing and defending suits under the Copyright Act and Lanham Act (regarding the trademark rights of branded apparel companies);
  • Litigating breach of contract, unfair competition, and other claims brought by luxury brands against authorized dealers;
  • Handling complex disputes between licensors and licensees; and
  • Representing companies and individuals in leasing and other real estate disputes.
