Partner Jeffrey Johnson, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Intellectual Property and Corporate Groups, was interviewed by CNBC Correspondent Julia Boorstin on July 13, 2010 for its story Is There a Case Against Facebook? Johnson told CNBC that “whenever a startup is a huge success, people inevitably come out of the woodwork to claim their piece of the pie.”

The article discussed the litigation, pursuant to which the plaintiff Ceglia seeks a share of the company,  in detail. When asked what the most likely outcome of the case, which Ceglia waited years to bring, Johnson responded that “if the case isn’t thrown out because of the statute of limitation issues, then Facebook could end up giving Ceglia a tiny piece of the company – and by tiny I mean one tenth of one percent.”  Johnson also suggested that if the alleged contract is found valid, Ceglia's ownership of the company would be based on the value of the company back in 2004.
