Partner Robert deBrauwere, Co-Chair of Pryor Cashman's Digital Media Group, spoke to Law360 for its October 4, 2013 article “Twitter's Plan To Go Public Sets Up Privacy Juggling Act.”

The article discusses Twitter’s highly anticipated initial public offering and the likely pressure from investors to loosen restrictions on consumer data usage in order to maximize its advertising revenue.

When asked how this will affect the social media giant’s privacy policies, deBrauwere told Law360, “[a]fter going public, Twitter’s inevitable drive to increase revenue will no doubt result in further monetizing the treasure trove of information it can and does collect from users… Its policies will likely need to be modified and expanded to allow for the collection, use and sharing of such information with its partners.”
