Pryor Cashman Partners Stephen Goodman and Jeffrey Johnson, co-heads of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice, welcomed the New York City Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society to its offices on April 26, 2012 for a panel discussion on “Medical Devices – New Rules, New Opportunities.”

Led by Dr. Christine T. Fischette, formerly with Enzo Therapeutics, Pfizer and Novartis and currently with Griffin Securities, Inc., the panel explored the macro trends and current conditions in the medical device industry from the perspective of start-ups and large, well-established manufacturers.

The discussion also focused on deal structures and their relationship to business development activities, differing regulatory paths of international vs. U.S. approvals of devices, and new IP considerations resulting from recent legal developments.
