Pryor Cashman represented Astoria Holding Corp. (“Astoria”) in its lease with Fairway for a 40,000 sq. ft. store at the Georgetown Shopping Center in Brooklyn’s Bergen Beach neighborhood.  The 20-year lease will mark Fairway’s first new store opening since it emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year.

As reported in The Real Deal, news of Fairway’s impending arrival has spurred additional leasing activity in and around the shopping center: Hudson Companies recently purchased six apartment buildings nearby, and retail tenants Carter’s and Oshkosh also signed leases with Astoria – who was again represented by Pryor Cashman.

The new Fairway is expected to open by the end of 2016, with Carter’s and Osh Kosh arriving in November.

Pryor Cashman Partner Andrea Gendel and Associate Amanda Waye, both members of the firm’s Real Estate Group, represented Astoria in these transactions.
