Pryor Cashman Selected to Participate in IPCNY Art Exhibition
On September 8, 2007, the International Print Center New York (IPCNY) opened its eighth season with the exhibition Working With Prints: Selections from Eight Corporate Collections. The exhibition, which runs through October 20, 2007, brings together a wonderful group of fine art prints of exceptional quality selected by Sandra Lang, a member of IPCNY’s Advisory Council and Director of the Visual Arts Administration M.A. Program in the Department of Art and Art Professions at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development.
Working With Prints features art from companies whose collections are recognized milestones in the history of U.S. corporate collecting – or have a unique focus and/or purpose. Pryor Cashman is proud to be participate in the exhibition and has shared five pieces from its woodcut collection:
- "Cloudburst", a 1982 woodcut by Louisa Chase
- "Hangzhou Tulip", a 1989 color woodblock on silk chine colle and rag paper by Robert Kushner
- "Dotty", a 1999 woodcut and linoleum cut by Elizabeth Murray
- "Untitled", a 1991 color woodcut by Robert Mangold
- "Volcano", a 1989 color woodcut by Richard Bosman
Other corporations included in Working With Prints are J.P. Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Hallmark Cards, Inc., The Hess Corporation, Johnson & Johnson and Progressive.
The exhibition is accompanied by curatorial talks, special evenings for our donors and lenders, and a full-color brochure published by IPCNY containing a curatorial essay by Ms. Lang.
