Kenneth A. Schulman, Partner at Pryor Cashman and longtime supporter of the New York Ronald McDonald House, is honored to once again serve as co-chair for the annual Team Ronald Heroes event.  The event will take place on June 21, 2016 at Gustavino’s in Manhattan and will raise funds to benefit the more than 300 families who are served each day by the New York House.

The House provides temporary housing, food and a range of support services in a “home away from home” environment for pediatric cancer patients and their families while they undergo treatments in New York.  The facility is the largest of its kind in the world, and stands as a beacon of hope and community for the thousands of children who have been served by its dedicated “backbone” of staff and volunteers.

In a video tribute highlighting the remarkable efforts of the volunteers, Schulman explained, “the house becomes an integral part of all volunteers’ lives because when you’ve experienced what it’s about and the people here, it’s hard not to become emotionally invested… I don’t consider this volunteering for a charity, I consider this just part of my life. I can’t imagine not having this in my life.”

While it costs the House $295 to accommodate a family for one night, families are only asked to donate $35 per night.  None are ever turned away due to financial hardship.  The remaining costs are funded entirely by foundations, corporations and individuals.  To make a gift to the Ronald McDonald House New York, please visit donations.
