William Charron, Co-Chair of Pryor Cashman’s Art Law practice, has been named a “New York Trailblazer” by the New York Law Journal. The NYLJ’s inaugural list of trailblazers honors a handful of individuals who have effected real change in their areas of practice. 

The NYLJ highlighted Charron’s groundbreaking work developing the recently-launched Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA), an international body created to resolve disputes over art’s provenance, ownership and authenticity. Based in The Hague, CAfA aims to bring decisional accuracy and market legitimacy to controversies involving art. Decisions are based in part on neutral experts, rather than advocates paid by the parties, and will be published - a rarity in arbitration - so collectors, dealers and others can understand the reasoning behind the court's ruling.
