Pryor Cashman Partner Maxwell Breed spoke with the New York Law Journal about joining the firm’s Real Estate Litigation Practice.

In “Pryor Cashman Lures Warshaw Burstein Management Committee Lawyer,” Maxwell shared his thoughts about leaving his previous firm and coming to Pryor Cashman:

Breed said his departure from the 60-lawyer firm was “not because he was unhappy at Warshaw” but rather because he ”felt like his practice could benefit from a broader platform and a deeper bench” at the Am Law 200 firm. Breed said he used recruiters and looked at multiple firms before landing on 240-lawyer Pryor Cashman.

“Pryor is going to let me take on clients of a different institutional character than what I’m used to,” Breed said in an interview.

He also discussed his practice focus:

Breed, who works with real estate portfolios and developers, said he has seen particular growth in multi-family properties in his practice. “A lot of what I do now is looking at the regulatory environment and finding ways to position properties or to work to impact legislative change,” he said.
